Thinking about Adopting?
True Love is Rescued…
There are so many wonderful dogs waiting for loving, forever homes.
We work hard to provide the most accurate information possible about each adoptable dog. However, because we rarely know their full history, we cannot guarantee age, breed, or temperament.
At C.A.R.E., our adoption process is designed with one goal in mind: finding the best possible match for both the dog and the adopting family. Bringing a new pet into your home is a significant commitment, and we understand that it can come with unexpected challenges. We take the time to carefully consider each adoption to help set both you and your new companion up for a lifetime of success.
Our commitment doesn’t end when the adoption is finalized. We are here to offer guidance and support if questions or concerns arise after your dog comes home.
Please remember that adopting a dog is typically a 10–15 year commitment. We appreciate your patience as we work to ensure every dog is placed with the right family.
Adoption Process
Because we are an all-volunteer organization, we are only able to conduct in-person home visits within a two-hour driving radius (one way) of Cleveland County, North Carolina. We do not conduct virtual home visits and are unable to adopt outside of this service area. Thank you for understanding.
The adoption process typically takes anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, depending on application volume and the completion of our screening process.
If you rent your home, please check with your landlord before applying to verify that pets are permitted and to learn about any breed, size, or deposit requirements. We will contact your landlord to confirm approval as part of the adoption process.
Thank you for considering adoption. By choosing to adopt, you’re giving a deserving dog a second chance at a happy, loving life.
