Please remember that your new family member can be a 10-15 year commitment. For this reason, we take time to ensure that each pet is fitted with the right family. We are all volunteers and for that reason we only travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits. We do not do virtual home visits nor do we adopt outside of the two hour window from Cleveland County, NC. Thank you for understanding. The adoption process can take from a few days to a couple of weeks to process. If you are a renter, please check with your landlord to learn of any pet deposits they may require. We will contact your landlord to verify permission.
Please understand and agree to the following adoption guidelines: (required)
All Adopters must be 21 years or older.
All cats and dogs currently owned by the applicant must be spayed/neutered and current on ALL vaccines. Dogs, six months or older, must be on heart worm preventive.
A home visit is required.
A veterinary reference must be given and will be checked.
No dog may be adopted as a gift for another person.
Adoption fee is $250.00 which includes spay/neuter, vaccines, and microchip.
Adult dogs will have been tested for heartworms, treated if tested positive and will be on preventive.
Puppies are spay/neutered at 8 to 12 weeks, may be reserved but may not be taken until this is completed. We require puppies to receive three sets of puppy vaccines.
If for some reason your newest family member does not seem to be the right fit, they are to be returned solely to Clifford's Army Rescue, never given or sold to anyone else.
A full refund is offered for up to one week after adoption date. Refunds for returned adoptions after one week is solely up to the discretion of the Clifford's Army Rescue's Board of Directors.
