Hi, my name is Crystal Biddix.

I joined CARE in August, 2018 after retiring with 37 yrs. of service with the US Dept. of Agriculture.

I’ve been married to my husband, Keith for 41 years and we have a son, Josh and a grandson, Mason.

I’ve always been an advocate for animals and growing up I had a menagerie of pets.

When I married my husband, I started “collecting” dogs mostly which have been discarded at our home. Over the years we have had a few dozen dogs to join our family.

Currently we have 2 rescues; Rascal, a red haired Jack Russel/chihuahua mix and Raven, a beautiful black mutt who was rescued from our local cemetery where she was abandoned.

When we found Raven she had been sitting out in the rain and mud with a couple of scoops of dry dog food beside her. The dog food was as wet as she was. Anyway after a little discussion with my husband he agreed to “rescue” her and we brought her to our home; her new forever home. It took Keith 3 baths to get rid of all the mud. We’ve had her 2 yrs. this May.

I became interested in working with CARE because these babies have no say in how they’re treated nor are they responsible for the circumstances they find themselves.

Being a new member I have transported several pups to their foster/rescues and to the Animal Alliance for spay/neuter services.

Currently I am also assisting with the Bark and Heal Class which uses students to train dogs prior to going to their perspective adoptive families.
